The Aloha Spirit
The “Aloha Spirit” is even enshrined in the law of the State of Hawaiʻi. The following meanings are my working translation, not an official rendering:
- A – Akahai: kindness, goodness, gentleness
- L – Lōkahi: unity, harmony
- O – ʻOluʻolu: kindness in relating, agreeableness, goodwill
- H – Haʻahaʻa: humility, modesty
- A – Ahonui: patience, endurance, perseverance
