Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is not a loss of control. It uses a natural state of focused attention in which inner images, bodily sensations and therapeutic suggestion can become particularly accessible.

Hypnosis uses a natural state of focused attention. You are not without will and do not relinquish control.

Turning attention inward

In trance, inner images, memories, bodily sensations and new ideas may become more accessible. At the beginning, we clarify your concern, expectations and any previous experience. I explain the process; you remain responsive and can interrupt it at any time.

Depending on the concern, I work with language, inner images, body awareness and therapeutic suggestions. Afterwards, we reflect on what you experienced together. Where appropriate, hypnosis can be combined with bodywork.

Part of my body-therapy work

Hypnosis has been scientifically studied for some clearly defined applications, including pain, stress associated with medical procedures and certain bowel-related symptoms. This does not imply general effectiveness for every concern.

Today I do not use hypnosis as an isolated standard technique, but where needed within my body-therapy work.

Medical context

Symptoms whose cause is unclear or which may be potentially dangerous should be assessed by a physician. My work does not replace necessary medical treatment. I am not aware of scientific recognition of the effectiveness of the methods and approaches I use.
